wow, thanks all. the top shot is of a maidenhair fern crozier.

and I have two lenses, my sigma all purpose favourite--18-200mm, bought after reading a blog discussion--and a canon macro 100mm 1.28 which I need for plant work. it also is a good portrait lens.
