Throwing splits

I really shouldn't juggle much any these days (boo!) but throwing splits (two or more balls/clubs/whatever thown from one hand and caught in more than one) is just so much fun. some of my favourite patterns at the moment are based on two balls rather than three..

(and photographing the process? near impossible.....)

I love the second shot. The way the balls look like they are tiny and stuck to your finger and thumb :)

Hehe - like david bowie in Labarynth :D

Be careful mat, we don't want you to form grotesque claws... Looks like a lovely day though. JoHeadMonkey is in norwich trying on wedding dresses right now.

Joe says:

thats mad, I had my juggling balls out last night, I was doing the 1 up, 2 up, 1 up, 2 up thing, bit out of practice though

columns, that's called. Neat variation - try not throwing the "spare" ball. Just move it up and down with your hand where it should be going.

sounds daft, looks great, fun to do (there's lots of further variations on how you move the spare ball around)

Joe says:

yeah I've seen that done, but I can never get my head to do it...practice....

The many talents of mat.....

Those pictures are very cool, I couldnt take a picture and juggle in the same moment!

Mat: On a side note, one of your links somewhere, shows a touchstream keyboard. Did you order it and is it any good?!!

mat says:

hardly juggling. :) repeatedly throwing things in the air and hoping I'd get enough decent shots to make it work, more like. I took about 30 pictures to get these three.

Touchstream I did order, but then the entire shipment got 'delayed' in the US due to a previously unnoticed license restriction of some kind. So, Im waiting to hear from the people concerned. (And trying not to spend the money I'd saved up for the keyboard!)

Well let me know if you get it, cos I'm quite interested...

30 shots.... Thank god for digital cameras...

I took about 50 this morning tryingt to get a continuous shoot of the cat jumping, but he got bored before I got anything good :(

mat says:

Hello Kozika - thank you for the link, I have seen balls like that used by other jugglers, but I think they might break if I dropped them too much. I drop them quite a lot!

Crazyb - ah, there's the irony: it's much easier to capture action on film, becuase film cameras don't suffer from shutter lag like digitals tend to.

Don't be worried. ^^

..Your photograph is beautiful. Is it from Sony Ericsson S700i?

18th May 2005, 14:11 | edit | delete

mat says:

Thanks. It is from an S700i, yes. A very good camera, for a telephone..

18th May 2005, 14:17 | edit | delete

kozika says:

Yes, I and Joe also think so. Thank you. ^^v

18th May 2005, 14:40 | edit | delete

crazyb says:

Yeah the lag is a pain, not to mention the time it takes the damn things to recover!

I use my digital on continuous for that kind of stuff, increases the probability alittle! lol

I'm still impressed, they are just really pretty pictures, but the I love skies...
